Urban Graze

With Mother’s Day around the corner, spend some time with your Mum in a cooking class. It’s heaps of fun, you’ll learn a thing or two and the best part is you get to eat it all. Ada Nicodemou from Home and Away has brought her Mum along to do just that!

Urban Graze is a small cooking school located in Kellyville in the Hills District of Sydney offering cooking classes that focus on high quality, non-intimidating, food education. They strive to provide a fun and relaxed cooking environment where guests learn modern cooking skills through a hands-on program. Afterwards you get to enjoy the meal as a group at the dining table and discuss the evening’s class.

The Urban Graze kitchen has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens and has since been specially designed for intimate hands-on classes for up to 8 people. The kitchen is fitted out with equipment suitable for home use, not with large commercial appliances.

They fully support the local community, from farmers to small business. All of their produce and equipment is readily available in The Hills District. Urban Graze is a fantastic alternative night out. You will create a number of dishes that you will share with other guests, keep the recipes and make some great new friends. They are also offering regular cheese appreciation nights and home barista classes.

At Urban Graze they encourage as much feedback as possible, so if there’s a class anyone would like to suggest to them, they are more than happy to look into it for future classes.

Chocoholic Kitchen Parties
Their chocoholic kitchen parties are a great alternative for hen’s nights, family get-together’s and birthdays or for just a fantastic chocolate experience. Urban Graze can cater for up to 16 people at their cooking school premise or up to 40 people at your own venue.

Begin the class with a tutored chocolate tasting of at least 15 different white, milk and dark chocolates. Learn the differences and uses for each and compare chocolate from all around the world including one of the world’s best, Callebaut.

A classic example of what to expect during the 3 hour class:

  • Make hand-rolled dark chocolate truffles.
  • Learn how to temper milk chocolate and make Aussie rocky road.
  • Create a batch of rich chocolate fudge sauce to take home.
  • Churn a litre of homemade chocolate chip and peanut ice cream.
  • Learn how to decorate rich chocolate fudge cupcakes using different techniques.

Lunch or dinner is also provided by Urban Graze during the class as you wait for the fudge sauce to cool or the triple chocolate ice cream to harden. A glass of wine is also served with the meal.

Urban Graze supplies all of the tools, aprons and equipment required for the class and will clean up the mess.

After the class the guests can finish their desserts then and there or choose to take them to enjoy at home.
