Snorkelling with Turtles and Leopard Sharks
Fingal Charters operates 3½ hour cruises from their jetty on the Tweed River and out through the Tweed Bar to Cook Island.

Anchoring on the protected side of the island, you’ll have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to snorkel with turtles, leopard sharks and other magical marine creatures in this underwater wonderland, under the watchful eye of a dive instructor who can show you all the best places.
Cruises depart seven days a week (weather permitting) from 8:30am. They run for about 3-4 hours and include morning tea on board the 11-seater dive boat and a celebratory barbeque lunch on the banks of the Tweed River when you return.

Whale Watching
Tweed Whale Watching is on board a 6.4 Naiad Inflatable vessel, 2 x 60 Yamaha’s. It takes just 15 minutes to get to the viewing location of the migrating humpback whales, just off the Tweed Heads.
This whale watching tour is the ultimate back to nature experience. The Tweed Heads coastline has the longest whale watching season for seeing the Humpback Whales as they travel through Tweed Heads to the warmer waters off Hervey Bay to mate and give birth. Then catch them again as they head south past Tweed Heads, this time showing off their new baby calves. The new proud parents are quite often fun and playful.
Humpback Whales are very curious and gentle creatures so be prepared when they move in so close … you’ll think that you can almost reach out and touch them.
