Parramatta is bursting at the seams with fabulous restaurants and here are two of the locals’ favourites.

Criniti’s Restaurant – Southern Italian Cuisine

Church Street in Parramatta is fast becoming one of the busiest eat streets in Sydney. And a Sydney Weekender office favourite on this strip is Criniti’s. This hot spot is dishing up winning Italian meals with delicious flavours that will have you coming back time and time again.

 

 

 

Tuck into the taste of Calabria with Pasta Calabrese in Napoletana sauce, olives, sausages, garlic and chilli or traditional rice dumplings - brescioli – stuffed in mozzarella cheese and served in Napoletana sauce.

Criniti’s wood fire pizzas are fresh and full of flavour, and there’s a heap to choose from. The favourite by far is the Azzuri with proscuitto, bocconcini, ricotta cheese, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes – YUM!

 

 

 

Criniti’s has an extensive menu – in addition to pizza and pasta, there’s steak and seafood. And how can you resist the dessert pizza’s … well you can’t! Nutella, apple crumble and banana pizza are all on the menu.

  • Sofia Loren Pasta – fresh scampi pan tossed with garlic, chilli oil, cherry tomato, basil and fresh parsley
  • Azzuri Pizza – proscuitto, bocconcini, mushrooms, artichokes and sun dried tomatoes with fresh ricotta cheese

Main

  • BBQ Ribs – tender pork ribs grilled and basted with Criniti’s own homemade secret recipe, chips and salad
  • Seafood Spiedino – skewered and barbequed char-grilled prawns, scallops, calamari and octopus with garlic aioli, chips and salads. 

Dessert

 

  • Ricotta Cake – ricotta tart, a homemade delicacy served with cream and ice cream
  • Coppa Di Gelato - a trio of gelatos unlike anything else you’ve seen

Redsalt – Crowne Plaza Parramatta

Redsalt is a stylish new grill specialising in select premium cuts of meats and fresh seafood. The food quality and service is synonymous with the Crowne Plaza brand.

What is red salt? Murray River salt is from Australia’s Murray/Darling River region. This inland salt contains the naturally occurring minerals and elements resulting in a high quality 100% salt product with a unique flavour. By using this salt we are assisting with Australia’s serious inland salinity problem and improving the environment.

 

 

 

Redsalt is certified with Grainge MSA approved. (MSA) Meat Standards Australia is a beef-grading program that endorses a guaranteed premium grade to ensure the highest beef industry standards.

Five types of beef meat cuts, sirloin, rib eye, fillet tenderloin, scotch fillet and a wagyu rump. The entrées are designed to be quick & simple. This allows sufficient time for the meat to be cooked and rested appropriately.

Diners are given the choice of their own side dishes and a condiments plate that compliments the grill items like caramelised onion jam, chilli jam, pink salt flakes and tomato relish.

The first Saturday of every month sees Redsalt’s sort after ‘Oceans Catch’. This is a modern seafood buffet including a cold selection with a hot platter of fresh grilled seafood brought to your table.

Accompanied by a selection of various Australian wines the name redsalt is a vision of fine earthy and natural food. Redsalt… great food and service in hotels guests love. It’s all about the salt.

  • Twice cooked pork, green apple and pawpaw slaw, air dried cranberries and sweet ginger dressing.

  • Ravioli pillows filled with braised veal and rosemary in a chilli Napolitana sauce
  • Grainge Rib Eye Steak with Potato Cheese Cake, Braised Baby Leek, Slow Roasted Roma Tomato & Guinness Glaze

Desserts

  • Warm chocolate brownie with Belgian chocolate sauce and berry sorbet
