El Caballo Blanco

Host: Mike Whitney

Mike’s going all Spanish on us and getting a behind-the-scenes look at El Caballo Blanco.

The arena-style extravaganza, El Caballo Blanco (The White Horse), will be led by riding Master Rene Gasser, who, with the experience of seven generations of horse-care and showmanship behind him, has worked tirelessly with these magnificent animals to recreate the type of event usually only seen at the famous riding schools in Vienna and Spain.

Melbourne audiences have recently marvelled at the elegance and strength of these magnificent horses as they perform spectacular movements such as the Levade, Pesade and Capriole.

The show will pay fitting tribute to these majestic steeds, whose strength and intelligence is steeped in romance. They have carried man through history, fuelled his greatest ambitions and shared many of his most noteworthy achievements.

The emotion-charged performance is complemented by evocative Spanish music, including live Flamenco guitarists and fiery Flamenco dancers.

El Caballo Blanco was created in Sydney early 1970 and now, finally, it returns to thrill new and old audiences alike. So, whether it be a romantic date, a group social or a chance for the whole family to experience a night out with a difference, this spectacular is one not to be missed.

To get a horse ready for the show, besides the extensive training they are also groomed to make them look immaculate and all the bridles and saddles are imported especially from Spain.
