The Wollongong Science Centre is a great way for kids to get hands on to learn about science and with over 100 exhibits covering a wide range of themes it will keep the kids fascinated for hours. But it’s not just about the kids. The Centre has enough to satisfy the whole family. From a fossil dig to a hydrogen powered rocket and to keep with the hands on experience there are plenty of skills and reaction testers that will that will keep you coming back for more. There is even a bike that is attached to some light globes which shows just how much electricity is needed for those lights to stay on.

For those who like who like to sit back and watch the stars there is the Planetarium. With no chance of rain, clouds or anything else that will block the view, you’ll get just a clear view of the stars. But it’s not the same as looking up at the sky at night. The Planetarium can show the stars from any location on Earth at any time. The entire Planetarium is designed as immersive theatre and created in such a way that brings the outside inside. And it’s not just for the budding astronomers out there. There’s a laser concert on the weekends that brings music to life. Laser images are set to a range of music that will suit anyone - from classical to the Beatles and Pink Floyd - and the best part is that you don’t even have to travel to the Dark Side of the Moon to see it!
