Time for a weekend away to the Mountains? Well then here are two fabulous spots that you we recommend you stop in and eat at. We’ve got breakfast, lunch and dinner covered with these two fabulous places.
Mash Cafe
Located in a sunny cottage with an open fire, a cute courtyard and a menu that focuses on fresh organic produce it’s easy to see why the Mash Café is so popular with the locals in Glenbrook.

This café with a conscience, aims to operate ethically and reduce its impact on the environment. The coffee and tea is fair trade and 100% certified organic. Plus a portion of the daily tips are donated to charity.
On top of the good deeds, the food is fantastic. Whether you’re popping in for a lazy breakfast, a long lunch or delicious dinner, you’ll enjoy the warm hospitality and tasty fresh food.

Restaurant Como
When Grant Farrant (chef) and Rachel McNabb (maitre‘d and sommelier) returned to the Blue Mountains to open a fine cuisine restaurant, they had a vision for sharing their love of food and wine with patrons as though they were entertaining in their own home.

And so, they opened Restaurant Como in Blaxland, creating a stylish yet relaxed dining experience where guests enjoy superbly crafted food with warm, friendly and knowledgeable service.
Grant cooked his way around Australia's top kitchens learning how to source and prepare our best local seasonal produce and seafood. In the Greek Islands and then Lake Como in Italy, Grant immersed himself for several years in the food culture to develop his own unique style.
Rachel worked in some of the best boutique hotels and country houses in the upper Blue Mountains. She moved to Sydney then London to refine her fine dining skills.
Como’s monthly degustation events feature eight of Grant’s best dishes, each carefully matched to a fine wine described by the winemaker in person.

Entree
- Crispy quail breast and cannelloni of confit quail leg, foie gras parfait, popcorn, vanilla foam, pear salsa
- Seared sea scallops with prosciutto-wrapped pork shoulder, a tartlet of pumpkin puree, citrus caramel
Main
- Roast fillet of wild-caught barramundi, vanilla gnocchi, baby carrot, chorizo, tomato butter
- New Zealand venison, macerated fig, pickled beetroot, grilled local Portobello mushrooms, crumbed feta, cocoa liquor
Dessert
- Baked banana samosa, chestnut mousse, quince ice cream, ‘brulee’ custard, fresh blueberries
- Rosewater meringue rolled with vanilla cream, set on a light passionfruit parfait and toffee sauce
